Paddling For Pudsey
Biography
Hi!, I’m Steve Williams, a 44 year old level 4 Sea
Kayak coach from Frimley in Surrey. I was originally born in Norfolk,
and lived there until 2 years ago. I've been paddling now for some 15
years with varying degrees of commitment. Kayaking has become more
important to me in the last 8 years and has become a real focus in my
life. I have completed several sea kayaking trips of varying lengths in
the following locations: UK and Ireland, Alaska: Glacia Bay, Juneau,
Baja: Loretto to Lapas, Canada: Tofino area, Desolation Sound, Discovery
Islands, and Johnston Strait, Bahamas: Exhuma Islands, and Chile: Chonos
Archipelago.
I have in the past spent some 20 months travelling
by bicycle or on foot in France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal,
Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands,
Canada, Chile and Argentina.
I really enjoy kayak surfing and I am still
attempting to wind surf properly. Mountain biking is another passion
that I share with friends, constantly comparing crash injuries!
My darling wife Jane provides undying support and
does, I freely admit, have a lot to put up with. My thanks also go to
Fiona Whitehead and Sean Morley for spending some time with me to share
their experiences in undertaking their own circumnavigation in their own
individual style. I have great respect for both of them.
